Where to meetup in the US

My best friend and I live on opposite sides of the country. Us and our wives have been meeting in Vegas most summers for years. But at this point we have seen all the shows, some twice, eaten at most of the places and seen most of the things. We are looking for an alternative location to meet up. Being close to a reasonable sized airport is pretty important. We like to play poker, but don't play any of the other table games. Need nice places to eat, and some things to see and do. Anyone found a place like that?
Edit: My best friend and his wife love pools... so gotta have a good pool to sit by... but they are also Irish... so have to have shade lol.
Edit: Ideally a specific resort/resort area that people have been to and thought was good.

Decent sports bar in the city to watch F1 on Sunday arvo?

The clash between St patrick's day and the F1 this year means I need to do some planning ahead.
Right now I'm planning to head in to the Adelaide Oval St Patrick's Day celebrations then head to a pub to watch the race at 3.40, then back to Adelaide Oval after the race.
The thing is, the only sports bar nearby that I know of is the Rosemont on Hindley and I'm thinking there surely must be better options.
Any recommendations or bright ideas? Preferably close to North tce, but if it's worth a trek somewhere in the CBD I'd still consider it.

Allstate & MGM

Wondering what people's past experiences are for both Allstate & MGM, any ideas if there will be anything thing like shakedown at either venue? Hard to imagine a shakedown setup in Vegas but figured i'd ask!

Brekkie Beers in the CBD and inner suburbs.

Night workers need knock-offs, too. Besides the Rosemont, the Casino, the Strath, are there any fun places to do brekkie beers with hospitality types in ADL?

Any good places in Adelaide to watch live NBA?

Game 7 on Monday is as big as it gets in basketball. Would be nice to be somewhere with good atmosphere.
Any recommendations?

Rugby World Cup - best places to watch

I know the Ale House often supports rugby, I just think its setup is a bit awkward and the Casino is a bit stale too and well spread out.
Does anyone know any good beer gardens / pubs or venues showing the games?
I used to love the Rosemont (shudders) for its all inclusive space and massive TVs for watching European soccer, but I think that place is no more or renovated..... not sure. I always thought it was the best 'sports bar' Adelaide had even with its sticky carpet etc.
Perhaps the AFL crowd could offer suggestions too, as places like the highway or other big suburban pubs might play it...
Cheers

Tall Meet-Ups On Tour!

Hello fellow colossal compatriots! My name is Travis Nelson and I'm a stand-up comedian from Seattle. At 6'9", I also stand in solidarity with you and your lack of legroom.
I've missed a few tall meet-ups because I travel so often. But then I thought, why not bring the meet-up with me?!
I will be touring this summer and I thought it would be fun to try and do a tall meet-up at some of my shows!
So far my tour schedule is:
June 15 at Parlor Live Comedy Club, Bellevue WA
June 16-18 at Spokane Comedy Club, Spokane WA
June 23-26 at Zanies Comedy Club (downtown), Chicago IL
June 30-July 2 at Funny Bone Comedy Club, Omaha NE
July 8-9 at Snickerz Comedy Bar, Fort Wayne IN
July 15-16 at The Main Hangar Restaurant, Decatur IL
July 22-23 at Goonie's Comedy Club, Rochester MN

August 6 at the Dubh Linn Irish Brew Pub, Duluth MN
August 11-13 at Cozzy's Comedy Club, Newport News VA
(Tentatively) August 19-20 Jokers Comedy Club, Indianapolis IN
If you live in any of those areas, hit me up and buy your tickets! I'm currently working on more dates and shows in between the ones I've got, so if you want to do a tall meet-up or just a comedy show in your town PM me! I’m looking at you, Montana/North Dakota/Kentucky/West Virginia! Working the road can be exhausting, and it's always nice to break the monotony :)
Also, if you're in the Seattle area, you can catch me at the Seattle Comedy Underground May 12-14. Also, also, I have a meager twitter existence @travisisjoking.
Oh, and here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJ5xCUP-910

Lolla Artists Playing Chicago Before Fest

There are quite a few bands hitting up Chicago before they play Lolla. For the locals, it is a good way to check out a band before the fest (and could possibly help eliminate future conflicts). For the non-locals, this list is useful in showing how lax the "radius clause" has become in the past few years. Also, it shows which bands are currently touring, so you can check to see if they are playing in your city. Click on the artist's name to go to the event's ticket page.

Entertaining an older group of relatives in the suburbs?

Next week my parents (mid 50's) and grandmother (mid 70's) are coming to visit. I've only lived in the Chicago area (La Grange) since Thanksgiving, and I've mostly been hibernating so I have no idea where to take them.
They don't particularly like big cities, and can't walk super long distances, especially in the cold. So I think I'll take them downtown one day of sightseeing, but that still leaves plenty of time to fill.
They like eating out (casual, not particularly adventurous) and playing games. They would be happy to just go to Applebees and play cards every night but I'm hoping to help them see and enjoy the area a bit.
TL/DR - what are your tips for things for an older crowd to do in the suburbs, accessible by car and winter-friendly?
My current thoughts are:
Restaurants:
• Hofbrauhaus (early, just as the music is getting started. And maybe walk over to iFly and see people flying for a bit)
• Giordano's
• Portillos
Things to do:
• go to a casino (per their request)
• Rosemont's indoor outlet mall
• Antique mall in La Grange
• Bingo somewhere?
• nice movie theater?
Any ideas appreciated, as they will be here a full week! Thank you.
